POADEP was founded in 2009 in the form of a civil non-profit company, as an initiative of University teachers and researchers with the aim of continuously assessing and monitoring the spatial impacts of the major road axes of the Western and Southern Country.

Today, the observatory studies and analyzes the socio-economic impacts of major transportation projects throughout the country. He prepares studies for the motorways of Olympia Odos, Ionia Odos, Morea (Corinth - Tripoli - Kalamata - Sparta), Central Greece (E65), the Rio - Antirio Bridge, etc.

The main results of these projects, as recorded in the POADEP studies, are summarized as follows:

- Positive impact on local GDP and employment, both during the construction period of the projects and during operation

- Increase in tourist flows and investment equivalents.

- Drastic reduction in accidents, especially fatal ones.

- Spatial expansion of markets for trade and production.
- Significant increase in mobility throughout the country.
- Reduction of social exclusion.

...to save the environment
Eco-Driving is a smart way of driving that contributes to reducing fuel consumption, reducing emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases, as well as reducing traffic accidents. Eco-Driving is a driving style that has been specially selected to be applied to modern passenger cars, trucks and buses.
